1996 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 2.7L 4cyl I purchased this truck about 3 years ago with 112,000 miles from a local guy who inherited it from a relative from Missouri. He didn’t need the vehicle so ended up selling it. For the 50,000 miles that I have owned the truck has not given me a single problem. This is a great truck, but it is 12 years old and is not perfect. I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to my vehicles, so my critique may sound a little harsh. I’ll start by saying the truck runs and drives like a 4X4 Tacoma should. This truck has the very durable 2.7L 4cyl engine; which runs and drives smoothly and has only 163,283 miles. It also has the 5speed standard transmission with a good clutch. It shifts smoothly through all gears. The truck runs out at highway speeds effortlessly. It has nice tight steering and the ride is good for a 4X4. The 4-wheel drive works great. On hard braking I’ve noticed a shimmy in the steering wheel. It would be a cheap fix, requiring a turning of the rotors. I will do my best to get that fixed before the end of the sale. All the lights and accessories are also in working order except when turning left the passenger side speaker will sometimes go in and out. There must be a loose wire and I haven’t had the chance to fix it. The body has some minor bumps and bruises. The rear fender of the passenger bedside has a couple minor dents from someone backing into it. There was a little rust starting on the tail gate but I did my best to prevent it by covering it up with a bed liner material. I’ve tried to capture all the blemishes in the photos, but they are minor and hard to see unless you are standing next the truck. From 20 feet away this truck looks practically flawless! The truck has several added items: An extra set of 33’’ Goodyear allterrains. They have about 50% of the tread left. -Those are slightly bigger than the tires on now which are 31’’ with about 30% tread left. Spray in bed liner. Tool box. (Not currently on truck) 2’’ tachometer. A very nice AM/FM/CD player I will be happy to answer any questions you have and can take additional pictures if needed.
